About Isabelle Brown (Isi)

It was always my childhood dream to own a horse farm. As a little kid I made my poor grandfather help me build stalls for my Barbie horses. It seems years later this task fell to my husband David. Thanks to his continued help, the support of my parents, sister, family and friends, we finally opened up our facility in the fall/winter of 2008.

Sellstedter Hof** is a relatively small dressage-oriented boarding and training facility in Oxford, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. Our farm offers ten 12’ x 12’ stalls, three pastures, a beautiful new 70’ x 140’ indoor riding arena, two rehab/turn-out paddocks with "perfect" footing.

The picture shown here is Grandpa taking me for a ride on Daisy back in the early '70s in Sellstedt, Germany.

Our main goal in running a barn is to make dressage training more accessible to the every day rider. We keep it safe, affordable and show how dressage can help rider and horse become a better team in a fun and happy environment no matter where your ambitions lie.

Regardless if you just want to trail ride or would like to work up the levels of dressage showing, we want to make our clients – two-legged and four-legged – feel at home.

To help my students, I continuously work on improving my own riding by taking lessons, and participating in clinics and symposiums with top dressage riders like George Williams, Reese Koffler-Stanfield and Walter Zettl.

I would also like to thank my instructors and clinicians who help me live my dream and continuously strive to make me a better horse person and rider. Thanks go to Meg Williams and Gerd Zuther who always keep an eye on me. They don’t hesitate to set me straight no matter if it concerns my riding, training or the breeding part of our small business. The same goes for MaryJean Vonderbrink who always make me feel like I am a better rider!
